Examinations Rules

General Examination Rules for Staff

All faculty members, invigilators, and examination-related staff are expected to strictly adhere to the following rules to ensure the smooth, fair, and confidential conduct of examinations:

Punctuality and Reporting

  • Staff must report to the examination center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination.
  • Absence or late reporting without prior approval will be viewed seriously.

Confidentiality and Integrity

  • All examination materials, including question papers and answer scripts, are strictly confidential.
  • Any form of leakage, unauthorized disclosure, or misuse of examination information will invite strict disciplinary action.

Identity Verification

  • Ensure proper verification of student identity using hall tickets and valid institutional ID cards.
  • Report any impersonation or discrepancies immediately to the Chief Superintendent.

Examination Hall Discipline

  • Maintain a calm, professional, and impartial environment in the examination hall.
  • Do not engage in unnecessary conversation or use mobile phones during invigilation duty.

Distribution and Collection of Materials

  • Distribute question papers and answer booklets strictly as per instructions.
  • Count and verify all answer scripts before and after the examination.

Handling Unfair Means

  • Any case of malpractice or use of unfair means must be documented and reported immediately as per institutional procedures.
  • Ensure proper seizure and documentation of prohibited materials.

Emergency Situations

  • In case of medical emergencies, power failures, or other unforeseen situations, inform the Chief Superintendent or Examination Control Room immediately.
  • Follow institutional emergency protocols without causing panic.

Record Maintenance

  • Accurately complete all required examination reports, attendance sheets, and invigilation records.
  • Submit all documents to the examination office promptly after the examination.

Professional Conduct

  • Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and fairness at all times.
  • Avoid any behavior that may create bias, pressure, or undue influence on students.

Compliance with Institutional & University Regulations

  • All staff must strictly follow the rules and regulations prescribed by the University, UGC, AICTE, and other statutory bodies.
  • Any deviation will be treated as misconduct.

General Examination Rules for Students

All students are required to strictly adhere to the following rules and regulations to ensure fair and smooth conduct of examinations:

Hall Ticket & Identity

  • Students must carry their Hall Ticket/Admit Card and valid Institutional ID card to every examination.
  • Entry into the examination hall is not permitted without proper identification.

Reporting Time

  • Students should report to the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • Late entry may not be permitted as per institutional/university rules.

Seating Arrangement

  • Students must occupy their seats as per the seating plan/room allotment displayed.
  • Any change of seat without permission is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Items

  • Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, programmable calculators, and any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Possession of prohibited items will be treated as a case of malpractice.

Writing Materials

  • Students must bring their own pens, pencils, erasers, and other permitted stationery.
  • Sharing of stationery during the examination is not allowed.

Instructions from Invigilators

  • Students must strictly follow the instructions given by invigilators and examination staff.
  • Any form of misbehavior or non-compliance will invite disciplinary action.

Use of Unfair Means

  • Adoption of unfair means, copying, impersonation, or possession of unauthorized materials is strictly prohibited.
  • Such cases will be dealt with as per university/institutional regulations.

Answer Booklets

  • Students must correctly fill in their Register Number, Subject Code, and other required details on the answer booklets.
  • Do not write your name or any identifying mark inside the answer script unless permitted.

During the Examination

  • Maintain silence and discipline in the examination hall at all times.
  • Students are not permitted to leave the hall during the first and last 30 minutes of the examination (as per rules).

Submission of Answer Scripts

  • Students must submit their answer booklets and all additional sheets to the invigilator before leaving the hall.
  • Leaving the examination hall without submitting the answer script will be treated as non-appearance.

Medical & Special Considerations

  • Students requiring special accommodations must inform the examination office in advance with proper documentation.
